Wig brought the stars

Yes,

Last night was a special event for Bamacross. We have established night time 'cross racing in Alabama. The sandpit being right at the center of spectatorship was great. Much heckling and cheering took place...I'm just now getting my voice back. I think the event went of without a hitch...with the exception of some idiot that kept jumping on the course and pushing racers...and pouring beer on them, what a waste of beer.

I have no idea what happened to make the 1/2/3 race play out the way it did, but it was a nailbiter fo sho.

What did you think of last night?

Let's meet up this Sunday in Montgomery and do it again, eh?

Thanks to everyone that came to watch and race. A high ranking official for Anniston Parks and Rec. was so impressed with the racing that he asked what I thought about having a permanent cross course out at Woodland Park. Of course I told him that would suck.
No problems with anything to report with the exception that too many racers passed on my 1 dollar preems. All I wanna know is who got the $100 bill? Better not pass those by the next time.
I can't wait to see Jam Master Jim Brock's dance video. I'm still laughing.
Can't wait to do it again next year.

Wig, you are the man!

Great night of racing. Some evil genius came up with that course. Hurley looked like he was in difficulty the last couple of laps...but held on. Barely. If I'm counting right, he has one more win than Will. So the points race is up in the air.

OMG I have to apologize for being a ^#$%! I always say people are at their worse when they are beyond their limit and I WAS!!! Im so sorry to any I offended.. I feel I failed myself in that respects, but what a testament to the act of NEVER give up!!! The sandpit was the hardest thing Ive ever endured in a race HANDS down.. strong work Wig. Lucky?? Blessed? yes!!!!

Will,

I feel real bad about not getting completely off the course in the sand when you were coming by. My mind was mush and I thought if just hugged the tape I'd leave you space. I should have gotten completely off the course. Sorry.

It was an awesome race course, good job Wig! Too bad I was trapped in the tunnel vision of pain most of the time (starting off too fast will do that to you) that I completely missed the bills waving around!

Next weekend more chances!

Wig, what can I say? This was the most awesome CX event in the history of Alabama Cyclo-cross! You really nailed it man. The venue was perfect. The course was well thought out, challenging, super-fast and super-fun. I think the crowd was the rowdiest ever because of the nature of this venue. It is what I have always imagined cyclocross could be in Alabama. It felt like "the Real Deal"!

I hate to pile on, cause at some point Wig's gonna get a big head, BUT flowing course under lights, and all the following in central location for spectators: concession stand, heated bathrooms, tables and benches, finish line, and sand pit.

Has anybody mentioned the great tunes and sound system? I remember having run up the hill then hearing, "Ain't but one way out baby, and lord I just can't go out the door. Cause there's a man down there, might be your man, I don't know."

I'm still figuring this stuff out but even a dumbass like me could tell that Saturday night was badasstic. Tons O' Fun.

And if HurleyO is the guy that was screaming in the A race, I thought it was because he was upset that the Bear running out on the course and pushing people never gave him any love.
