Results and night racing

Ok, The results for Heardmont are final. I gave it through the weekend and no protests arose. We will have the spreadsheet updated shortly. I hope everyone is as geared up about the Saturday night race this weekend as I am. The concession stand will be open, the music will be bumpin' and it will likely be c-c-c-cold. This should be...epic?

One of the main things to worry about is making sure that you bring appropriate dress for the conditions, both on and off the bike.

See you on Saturday!

Anybody have suggestions for a hotel somewhat near the park? Say for example if an extra beer or two accidentally slid down my throat and I didn't want to drive very far. If not, I guess I'll have to exercise some self control.

Any word on the course? I presume it's different from last year?

Check the flyer, totally different location. I'd guess that Wig will put in a fair amount of switchbacks to slow people down and add time to laps, but Wig's a crafty one and I wouldn't put anything past him.

For lodging there is a hotel very close to the venue on Hwy 21. Also on Ft McLellan there is The Longleaf Lodge or Inn. I'll post names and numbers tomorrow here.
The venue of course has changed. The course winds through the grassy field around the softball fields and will be between 1.3 and 1.5 mies long. Although it will have fast sections there are several switchbacks (downhill, off camber right handers - awesome!)which will slow everyone down, an S curve in a ditch (I kinda bit Prattville's rhyme - sorry Hiott), sand pits (plural) a long steep run up (30-40 feet unless you try to ride part of it), paved section and possibly the usual wood barriers. Most all of the course can be seen from anywhere around the course. BTW the fields are not bumpy and you will not need lights. Dual entry wheel pit MARK YOUR WHEELS AND DO NOT USE WHEELS THAT ARE NOT YOURS WITHOUT PERMISION!
During each race be on the lookout for people trying to pass out dollar bills (I snagged 4 at Heardmont). If you have some dollars to spare try giving them to racers youselves. It's too fun on both sides of the tape.
Concession stand will be open and I have asked that they stock up on hot beverages. There will be a moon jump for kids from 2:00 until it gets to cold.
I do not think this course will be easy but it will definately be fun. Epic? We'll see.
Oakley has stepped up and provided 2 pairs of thermonuclear eye protection for the B's to battle for. Mellow Mushroom has stepped up and will be providing a free "beverage of choice" (don't know how many yet)redeemable of course at the Shroom.
They might even let you fill up your new Pint glass?
Bring your camera and get a picture of you with your bike standing next to the sign at the entrance of the park that says "no bicycles or skateboards allowed."
I look forward to seeing you all Saturday.

The royal Inn is closest to the venue. Long Leaf Lodge at Ft McLellan.
THere is also the Victoria Inn in Anniston and several others in Oxford.
I hear everyone is heading to the Mellow Mushroom for pizza and beer after the races.

Wig, thanks for the Hotel help and the course description. Muchly appreciated.

I plan on bringing as much utter averageness as possible.
