a little word of advice: you're going to want shoes you can run in on this course. trust me.

Dude, I'm psyched! This next one is kind of off the subject. Brent, will you be setting up all of the courses based on the UCI requirements? Will you be doing any improvisation on barrier placement (40cm tall, 4 meters apart), starting area length (straight 300 meters), etc.? Just trying to figure out how best to conduct my 'cross practice.

Brent, behold, the theme song and inspirational video for the 2007 Bamacross Series.

uci requirments will be used as a guideline, not a hard line. some of the venues that we are able to use have some comprimise in areas. avondale will have a hard time getting a 300m start finish straight and one area of the course will bottleneck down. some other venues have comprimises like this. the general idea is to have limited dismount areas, a nice mix of off/on road and keep the city park theme. barriers will be 15 3/4" high. i don't think avondale will need any artificial barriers.

Those pics of Avondale make it look so peaceful and serene, but
I was behind Jacob when he hit those steps. The pics are deceiving.

Yeah, I've got a nice little 4-inch strip of serenity on right ankle where my carbon road shoes went skating across the first step.

Nice, very nice. Now lets hope for one of those freekish snowstorms and we will be set!

The park looks nice and serene. Great for a quiet picnic with the family...until a bunch of rowdy cyclists on caffeine step out and begin the chaos! Awesome.
