I love the course. It has taken years of opinion changing...but, I am of the opinion that the racers make the race, not the course.
That being said, the course is fast. No real elevation change to speak of. The grass....ah, the grass. The grass will sap your legs lap after lap and is akin to riding through peanut butter.
There is gravel, grass, concrete, asphalt, creek crossing involved. If it is soggy, prepare for a muddy baptism.
George Ward has been on my wish list for years. When they installed the sidewalks last year I was deflated, sure that a cross course would never work with them in place. Ben and I worked hard to come up with a course and I think it is great. The park is one of the best and the biggest in the city.
As always, forgive me for misspelling and butchering of the engli...
I'm sure it will be fun. Even easy courses hurt. Thanks for the effort and see yall on SUnday for the 1st sufferfest of the year rain or shine. Anniston will be bringing 7-8 racers that I know of.
Sounds like deep dish wheels and extra beer to recover are in order. I'm excited. I'm a smedium so big boy pants are out of the question. See yall Sunday!! MORE COWBELL!! I'll also bring some dollar bills to get the dollar takers warmed up.

What's the general consensus on the course?
Brent,
I'd like to get involved in BamaCross, but I can't find any information. I was going to email you, but I can't find any contact info.
Also, the link for the 2009 rules doesn't work.
let me know something,

Hola Apollo,
I'll have the rules revised and up this week. The only changes will pertain to splitting the team race into m/w and leaders jersey wording.
You can scroll down the right side and read the 08 rules.
I'll email you.
Thanks,
B

Wig, Brent said "fast," not easy. It's a very hard course, and with all the rain we've been having...
Bring your big-boy pants. It's gonna hurt.
