The first time I ever heard Portishead was a windy winter's night several years ago, I was driving on the freeway and had to pee really bad. The nearest exit was an unlit frontage road, I stopped at the side of the road, turned off the lights, and peed off the shoulder with "Sour Times" playing on the radio.
The whole scene gave me a huge case of the heebie jeebies, and I was really happy to get back on the freeway. But I was still wondering if someone, or something, had snuck into the back seat....
ok, so i had to go straight to the horse on this one. it's a flemish band called air. in my quest, i found a band called atomica that is worth checking out...although they sound a little much like portishead at times.
I've ordered a couple of the Embrocation journals from Jeremy Dunn. One's on the coffee table at BBC. Kind of nifty in an arty, atmospheric way...like his vids.

if anyone is on facebook, search for a page called crosstube...some dude puts up vid's and results of all european races. Cool stuff.
